Transcend is a neighborhood skate shop run by owner Marie Stratechuk who has (thanks to her two skater sons) a personal interest in encouraging and supporting skateboarding in our neck of the universe. The idea to open a skate shop/skaters' oasis grew from more than a few skaters' gnarly discontent at having to travel to lands long and far away every time they popped a bearing.

One day, the idea was spoken:

"Hey...someone should open a skate shop around here. I'm really sick of driving over to (insert name of long and far away land here)."

Soon after, the idea became reality…
